on Club Med's Paradise Island

We just want to thank you so much for helping us book our honeymoon at the all inclusive Club Med Resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas! It was absolutely WONDERFUL! The village was beautiful and quaint-exactly what we wanted!!! Instead of a big high rise hotel, we stayed in a villa right next to the beach. Even though there were about 300 people that stayed there, it never seemed crowded. The water was crystal blue and the sand was pure silk.
The staff was extraordinary! They were personable and always helpful. Because Club Med is French owned, there were people from all over the world. We were actually in the minority being from America. We met some wonderful people from France and Germany (thank goodness they could speak English). We never had to leave the resort except the two times we took excursions. We took a 15 minute boat ride to another island to swim with the dolphins. It was absolutely amazing. We got to swim in their lagoon, and they gave us hugs and kisses. It was a once in a lifetime experience!!
 We also took a speedboat ride to one of the deserted islands in the Exumas. When we arrived, there was quite a spread waiting for us including fresh fruit, smoked fish, salad and exotic drinks. It was hosted by a couple who lives on an island close by. They are the only ones on the island, and they host these excursions so they can socialize with others. We then went snorkeling in the crystal water, fed the sharks, and then we hand fed the sting rays.
The resort was relaxing, but also had various activities including sand and water sports. After a 30 minute sailing lesson, we took a small sailboat out into the ocean. There was happy hour activities every night before dinner and a different show every night about 9pm. Then about 10pm, the night club opened for mingling and dancing (for those who weren't exhausted from a full day of sun). The food was FANTASTIC! Every night the buffet was a different theme for dinner including French, Mexican, Italian, Asian, etc. There were two restaurants for all meals, and one of the restaurants served a sit down dinner with reservations nightly. There were also snacks available in between meals. We definitely NEVER went hungry!! The drinks were all premium liquor, and we were even able to get American beer.
This was a perfect vacation for us. It was a mixture of all ages and nationalities. It was a perfect place for a newly married couple, but it also had families and older couples. You could just relax on the beach in the sun or play sand sports, water aerobics, golf, explore, sight see....the list goes on and on!! We met two travel agents from Texas, and they had never been to Club Med before. They were so impressed with it, that they said they would definitely start booking Club Med for their clients!!!
