Much more than just a zipline tour, it's also a course of eight different spans across trees with suspended logs, rope bridges and swinging steps. There's an added option of climbing a 50' tower. Then the ziplines begin! Along the way, climb through a giant cedar tree called "The Nest" to the final zipline and descend back to the ground. Nest head to the climbing wall and ascend any or all of the four sides of the tower, or take the circular stairs to the top for a fantastic view of the forest and Clover Passa... |

Ketchikan is appropriately known as the "Salmon Capitol of the World". The pristine waters harbor five unique types of Salmon. The King Salmon is Alaska's state fish and the most important sport and commercial fish native to the Pacific coast of North America. Of course, you may have luck with the Red or Sockeye, the Silver or Coho, the Pink or Humpback, and the Chum. Along with Salmon, Halibut fishing in Ketchikan is ever so popular. Alaskan Halibut is a toothy flatfish resembling a flounder, but it grows much larger. The Halibut taken by sport anglers are generally 20 to 30 pounds in weight. However, fish of over 100 pounds are frequently caught. Be sure to bring your camera along, as other wildlife often makes their presence. |
CHKC Alaskan Adventure...KETCHIKAN CITY AND SAXMAN TOTEM VILLAGE TOUR...Aug. 12, 2008 |
|
$46.00 USD Per Person |
$35.00 USD Children |
“RECOMMENDED” |
Much of Ketchikan is built on fill, on pilings over the water, or on hillsides with steep winding ramps for streets. We felt it the most charming of all the towns we saw in Alaska as it's success hasn't overshadowed it's reality, a great fishing and logging town. No trip to Ketchikan can be complete without visiting the Saxman Totem Village. This is Alaska’s only totem park with 29 authentic totems carved by Tlingit and Haida natives. The poles were moved here from there original sites in the 30's and have been restored by native carvers. Your guide will be able to give you great insight into the background of the tribes and the ritual of carving. |
